Ann Arnold is a still life painter showing at the North Point Gallery in San Francisco and a children's book author and illustrator. In 2001 Farrar, Straus and Giroux, published her picture book biography, The Adventurous Chef: Alexis Soyer. Her second biography, Sea Cows, Shamans, and Scurvy – Alaska's First Naturalist: George Wilhelm Steller was published in November 2008 by FSG. In December of 2009, her oil paintings will be exhibited by the North Point Gallery.
Linda Elvira Piedra is a fine art and portrait photographer working with large format cameras. Her photographs can be seen at: www.lindaelvirapiedra.com and www.photoeye.com. Her interest in tree peonies took her to Linwood Gardens in Pavillion, New York where she photographed many beautiful specimens. Some of these pictures are included in her current exhibition, Photographs of a Floating World, at Nonesuch Space in Oakland, California. Her photographs illustrate this website.
Lauren Shi will soon be joining her husband Dr. Michael Shi as a traditional Chinese doctor in the Wellspring Clinic in Berkeley. As a native of China she is prepared to navigate the intricacies of Chinese business decorum in search of the best and most ecologically responsible fabric.
